A new sitter should give you a free orientation meeting. This should last about 30 minutes. This will give you and your children a chance to meet the future sitter and get to new a little bit about them.

Familiarize your babysitter:

Give them a tour of the house. Show them things you think they should know.

1. Orient her to the layout of your home. This should include bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and outside areas.
2. Explain how the appliances in the house work.
3. Show them were the first aid kit is.
4. Let them know any rules you would like them to follow, phone, cooking, television, etc.
5. Fill out the emergency contact list.
